Seriously guys, nothing has brought me more joy or made my room look more tumblr than these DIY pillow cases I made this week! I’m really obsessed with how they turned out and I hope you’ll like them as well!
For this DIY you’ll need:
♦ Two white pillowcases
♦ Iron on transfer paper (available at Michael’s or other craft stores)
♦ A printer and scissors
♦ An iron
The first thing you’re going to do is design your template that will be ironed on to your pillow. I went with the classic “DANCE ALL NIGHT” and “SLEEP ALL DAY” pillows that I literally always see on Tumblr and stores like Urban Outfitters. You’re going to print your design out on transfer paper and cut it out to so it’s only the letters. A few things to keep in mind: if you’re printing out letters, make sure to mirror them so that when you iron them on, they’re facing the right way. Also, I used the font DIN Condensed Bold in the size 350 and that seemed to work well.
Before you iron on your transfer design, be sure to iron out your pillow cases to get rid of any unwanted creases. Make sure to space out your letters before hand so that you know exactly how you want it to look. Your transfer paper should come with instructions on how long to iron until all of the color is properly transferred.
I feel like these pillows transformed the futon under my bed, and the best part is I paid a fraction of what I would have had I bought them from Urban Outfitters.
If you recreate these pillows be sure to tweet me photos! Thank you guys for following this series! I truly hope your dorm, bedroom or apartment is all ready for fall, and that you were able to do it on a budget!
TrendyChelsea will be down for maintenance for a few days later this week, but I will see you guys next #trendytuesday with a brand new post! Until then, stay trendy.
