Long Layovers and German Lattés

Can I just start by saying, 84 hours with out a shower makes for some very stinky college students!

So as some of you might already know, and the rest of you are about to find out, I’m in South Africa! I’m here for one month with an organization called Cru to build relationships with the students and volunteers of a non profit called Mamelodi Initiative, as well as team up with the volunteers to teach English and Math. I’m very excited for what God is going to do this month, and I know I am going to be stretched and growing throughout.

This is a huge step of faith for me because I have never left US soil before! Yes, I’m 20 years old and traveling internationally for the first time. I won’t even apologize for turning my passport into a photoshoot prop or getting giddy on the plane.

We have a 7 hour layover in Frankfurt, Germany on our adventure to South Africa, so we were able to go out and explore the city. Check out the photos from our time!

So yeah, technically my first trendy meets south africa post isn’t even in South Africa, but it’s all about the journey! Stay tuned for next week’s post, I’m really excited to share with you guys how God is going to move this month in my life and lives of students in Mamelodi. Love you guys, and thanks to everyone who is supporting me financially and with prayer!
