Hello Ladies & Gents,
I wanted to start off by letting my lovely readers know that I’m going to start posting more regularly, probably once a week on a day I have yet to choose. That way you guys can expect when the next post will be published! Secondly, I’m going to try and use more of my own photos in my posts, just to be more genuine about whats going on in my life and my closet, and to add originality. 🙂
Today I want to talk about a trend that isn’t exactly… lets just say new. Let’s be honest, Cheetah Print was cool when Keeping Up With Kardashians premiered in 2007, and it’s still cool now. Despite the line “that dress is so tacky, who wears cheetah?” in the ever so catchy #SELFIE song, I choose to believe Cheetah has the capabilities of looking classy, sassy and unfortunatly if you let it…trashy.
I believe there are right and wrong ways to wear cheetah print, starting with the print itself. Stay away from prints that are colorful, as to avoid looking like the majority of your wardrobe is from Justice. Also, try to not wear pieces that scream your grandmother. Cheetah can sometimes have the tendency to look frumpy.
That said, there are so many ways to incorporate cheetah print into your closet! You can wear large pieces like a faux jacket or cheetah harlem pants. Both of these pieces are rather bold and look good matched with neutral solid clothing.
If you’re not comfortable with wearing such bold pieces of clothing, its cool to add small cheetah accents to your outfit with cheetah belts, hairpieces, jewelry, shoes or scarves.
I want to give you guys an example of one way way you can put together a cheetah-licious (no laughing) outfit. Personally I love cheetah print matched with a good solid blue, as pictured below. If you’re not careful your blue and black can clash, but this shade with cheetah shorts and a solid black top is absolutely adorable. Adding the watch and heels gives the outfit a nice sharp look.
There’s just something about Cheetah print that makes me feel so fierce! I’m ready to belt out “Cause we are sisters, we stand together, we make up one big family” with my fellow disney channel Cheetah Girls. Ok, before I embarrass myself even more..
let me know what you guys think!
